Melindagloss designers Mathieu de Ménonville and Rémi de Laquintane envisaged a summer country club scenario for spring for their collection that referenced late Fifties and early Eighties influences.
Prints stood out in the line, not just on their own but also in the eye-catching way that they were juxtaposed with solid colors. A bold blue-and-white checkered shirt was paired with billowy plum-colored trousers, for instance, while a blue-and-orange paisley shirt teamed up with light-blue jeans and a beige fringe jacket for an appealing and youthful combination.
New to the mix this season was a smattering of women’s looks, such as two print dresses and a pants-and-blouse ensemble. De Ménonville maintained this does not herald a new direction for the brand. “We do not want to develop women’s wear,” he said. Yet Melindagloss outposts will retail the pieces.
