Gold and silver metallic wrecked cars, motorcycle stunt riding, fire and flames, as well as a live performance by rapper Tyga. These were some of the ingredients of Philipp Plein’s over-the-top show.
“It’s all about Hip-Rock, it’s a new movement,” said the German designer backstage before the show, referring to the new generation of rappers who incorporate elements from the rock ’n’ roll culture in their looks.
These definitely represent the target of Plein’s lineup, which was filled with leather pieces embellished with studs and graffiti-inspired patterns, sweatshirts with padded leather patches and destroyed denim pants. Pops of bright red and the silver metallic accents of some leather numbers lightened up the urban and graphic black-and-white color palette.
