For his fall men’s collection at Acne Studios, Jonny Johansson took inspiration from some of the Swedish uniforms he wore during his military service. “Those uniforms dated back from the Forties. They were beautifully crafted with clean lines,” he recalled.
Johansson excelled with all the utilitarian pieces, which were often cut generously as in an oversize navy jacket or voluminous coats with wide, rounded shoulders. Scarf ties added a dressy, boy-scout touch.
As did shrunken peacoats decorated sparsely with colorful embroideries reminiscent of Swedish folkloric costumes. Johansson also used industrial grommets and scallop edging on leather and suede shirts and jackets.

As Johansson always like to twist things, he disrupted his autumnal palette with shots of more feminine shades such as soft pink and lilac — totally unexpected for military attire.
