CMMN SWDN creative directors Emma Hedlund and Saif Bakir steered their brand in a more sentimental direction for fall. It was a welcome departure from the stark aesthetic that they’ve become known for. Elements from their childhood homes — things like a dad’s beloved faux leather sofa or a granny’s mottled throw rug — informed the collection’s contrasting textures.
The geeky, vaguely retro proportions were still there, including high-waist, ankle-grazing trousers, turtlenecks and zip-neck shirts — but rendered in a Seventies living room palette of camel, rust, brown, charcoal and mustard.
A fully reversible duffel coat, in camel wool on one side and an oversize knitted check on the other, comprised part of a strong outerwear statement. Striking too was a rust biker jacket in pony skin that was paired with a striped shirt and narrow black pants.
