After 15 years at Miharayasuhiro, designer Mihara Yasuhiro’s stated aim was to start with a clean slate for his fall collection, which gleaned inspiration from Ram Dass’ spiritual book “Be Here Now” and hobos of the early 20th century.
The styling — layer upon layer of clothing, with a healthy helping of denim — imparted a nomadic impression, while patchwork details with U.S. state names lent to the itinerant theme.
Yasuhiro’s collection wasn’t a complete break from his rich past, happily, with paisley details and the splicing together of fabrics among bygone references cropping up again.
