The American Southwest and spaghetti Westerns of the late 1960s — with a healthy dose of Native American motifs — served as the main inspiration for David Hart’s fall collection.
Authentic 19th century prints showed up in dress pants that contrasted well with the all-over foulard patterns in dress shirts and handkerchiefs, and helped elevate the solid collection.
His traditional use of a rich color palette — this season it was red, orange and cobalt blue — blended seamlessly with the retro patterns in sharp suits and eveningwear.
Hart also provided a touch of humor with wooly chaps that aren’t expected to make an appearance at retail anytime soon, but nonetheless, helped bring the point home.
