Nineties grunge rarely looked as appealing and refined as in Trussardi’s fall collection. Having found inspiration in an unknown photograph of Kurt Cobain, Gaia Trussardi said she was struck by the singer’s fragility, which gave way to the soft and enveloping volumes that were at the heart of this season’s collection.
There were oversize cashmere cable-knit cardigans and loosely fit cashmere shirts with extra-large pockets that telegraphed a youthful yet luxurious mood. Fur and knit existed side-by-side on fancy scarves and jackets, in line with this season’s trends. But it was the outerwear that stole the show, as Trussardi contrasted bulky blazers from deer leather with romantic bouclé peacoats.
