“It’s a little revolution for MSGM,” said creative director Massimo Giorgetti, referring to the limited number of prints used in the collection. This season the brand’s signature playfulness came through via embroideries of space-inspired elements. “The starting point was the Beastie Boys’ ‘Intergalactic’ video,” he said. The inspiration also influenced the Nineties silhouettes. A roomy furry coat was paired with wide-legged denim pants and chunky wedged shoes. Giorgetti imbued the lineup with feminine touches — a trend on the Milan runways for fall — including lace polo shirts, beaded decors and pink tones. Although the collection felt short of a revolution, it marked a solid, commercial evolution for the label.
