Unapologetically Eighties, Thomas Pink’s collection was inspired by the decade that spawned The Clash’s anthem “London Calling.”
Windowpane and Prince of Wales checks abounded in various scales across shirts, but also in jazzy tweed jackets and pants — some in Rupert The Bear yellow — plus polka dot neck ties and knitted chevron versions in addition to stripes.
Otherwise sombre covert coats were cheered up with collars of jewel hued velvet — “Something very British we made our own,” said head of design Frederik Willems. He also noted the presence of performance wear, as in a reversible tweed jacket with a waterproof shell.
