On the heels of a tumultuous year, Sara Battaglia looked to the power of youth as an example of resilience in harsh times. She translated the characteristically unapologetic and fearless attitude of the younger generations in a fall collection that offered plenty of options for young girls willing to play the dress up game.
If confinement has brought loungewear front and center, Battaglia elevated it here through a range of cozy leggings matched with double-breasted, statement-making sartorial blazers, as well as via cable knit vests and shorts that looked as appropriate for the tennis court as for a winter party at home.
Bolder teens who were forced to cancel their sweet 16 celebrations will have plenty of feminine options when party season will hopefully return. Fluid jersey gowns, some plain black with square necklines, others adorned with rose gold chains at the collar were chic in their unfussy designs.
Roomy trapeze coats with giant lapels featuring nipped waists, cape jackets cut in hourglass-y shapes and miniskirts paired with crepe silk shirts conjured Sixties glamour and nodded to Battaglia’s distinctive style, a blend of Milanese chic and rebellious spirit.
