Yves Salomon is looking for ways to make fur more accessible, with shearling and suede among the key materials for fall.
Versatility was a driving idea this season: coats and capes with reversible pairings of shearling and fur, or suede and leather; long vests in a variety of hair lengths — the fluffier, the richer — to wear over any outfit, as well as one coat with detachable, reversible layers for multiple combinations.
Several new techniques were highlighted: inkjet impression; micro-intarsia inlays in tweed, tartan or floral patterns, and metallic effects that preserved the softness of the fur.
Boyish short-hair peacoats, bathrobe shapes, patent shearling aviator jackets, a mechanic’s jumpsuit in buttery suede and blousons with sporty ribbed cuffs were among the fresher options on display.
