As the name Noir Kei Ninomiya suggests, the collections are typically done exclusively in black. But fall had Ninomiya in some sort of romantic mood. He branched out of the darkness, opening with a red faux-fur jacket crafted from fuzzy dots and squares connected with metal hooks. A similar look featured a red fur collar and cuffs, and there was a wrap, scarf-like thing also connected by hardware links. The plush stuff and color infused the hard look, which included a lot of harness constructions, with a softness, which Ninomiya further explored with sweet floral motifs around the neck of a black sheer dress and blooming from puckered tulle on a biker jacket, and bows trimming black pants and the straps of a black jumper. “It was all about the flower,” said Ninomiya after the show.
