Tadashi Shoji included some lovely exits for fall. The most notable examples were a rose-embroidered black velvet gown with draped, off-the-shoulder sleeves; a navy-and-gold-floral brocade Hendrix suit, and a royal-and-gold velvet, flared tea-length coatdress with braid trim. But these few looks were just not reason enough for a formal show full of looks that were wearable enough, but dated by their details and contained too many lackluster shapes.
