Fresh off her Los Angeles spring show extravaganza, Rebecca Minkoff gave WWD a sneak peak at what she’s showing for fall.
The see-now-buy-now model is working for Minkoff’s business, so she will show this fall collection on the runway in September. Inspired by The Rolling Stones’ 1978 U.S. tour, the collection was a mix of bohemian and rocker and it worked like a charm. Minkoff showed a terrific lineup of outerwear, such as a fur-lined denim patchwork jacket, a pink fur-lined parka and a colorful knitted patchwork fur shrunken jacket.
There were also menswear-inspired toppers with colorful faux-fur collars and of course, her signature biker jacket. Minkoff showed off her boho side with a sweet floral print dress and a little Holly Hobbie-like quilted jacket. She went a little rock ‘n’ roll with faded concert Ts, a fringe leather jacket, a corduroy pantsuit and a velvet slipdress for evening.
Minkoff started her business with accessories and she had plenty of new bags to show. Standouts included the star-studded bags in muted colors, the whipstitch cross-body, the studded satchel and an embellished leather and faux calf hair number in a variety of shapes. Technology is very important to Minkoff, so she showed plenty of fun phone cases that reflect the collection. As for jewelry, Minkoff played with guitar-pick charms with meaningful messages. Now that’s running with a theme.
