Angela Beck is a busy woman. She runs her company, Pomegranate Inc., while raising five children on her thoroughbred farm in Kentucky, and also oversees the design and expansion of her ready-to-wear label Becken. Lucky for Beck, she just brought on designer Chris Gelinas as creative director, and he presented a tight lineup of outerwear for his debut presentation. Gelinas focused on the classic padded riding jacket for fall, but reinterpreted it in a modern way. Such interpretations came in a cape with a shearling collar, a colorblock jacket and even an evening version in a shrunken silk. And it’s all produced in New York, save for an Alpaca blanket poncho that was made by artisans in Bolivia. These pieces will look just as chic and effortless in the city as they will on the ranch — albeit a luxurious one.
