HOODIE HIDEAWAY: Kanye West was playing camera shy as he went into the Balmain show Thursday afternoon, hiding under a cream-colored hoodie and a jacket encrusted with thousands of pearl-like beads. Momager Kris Jenner, meanwhile, chatted happily with fellow guests. She shook hands with some before pulling away, reminding herself: “I broke my finger. I just had the splint off yesterday.”
Aside from supporting daughter Kendall, who walked the show, Jenner is helping out on teenager Kylie’s latest venture, a makeup line. “She’s the boss, I’m just trying to help her along,” she said.
Muse’s Matt Bellamy was in town for six shows this week at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy and decided to check out a couple of fashion shows, too. Coming up for the British band is a slot headlining Glastonbury in June.
“We’re working on a few surprises for that,” he said. “It’s going to be one of the best lineups ever.”
Playing the festival on the Friday night, Bellamy said he would be taking advantage of relaxing and seeing other acts over the rest of the weekend, and would be camping out in a yurt.
“Definitely glamping, if I’m going along,” piped in girlfriend Elle Evans.
Jenner was not the only guest sporting an injury, meanwhile. Bayern Munich defender Jérôme Boateng had just begun training again after two months out with a pulled hamstring. “Now I have to work really hard to get back on the pitch,” said the soccer player, who was attending his first Paris fashion show.
Sporting a pair of quirky glasses, he admitted to having an eye for style. “They’re from a store in Munich, it’s a Japanese brand,” he said, although he could not cite a name. “I don’t look at brands. If I like it, I buy it.”
