In his second season, Shan Huq, a 20-year-old self-taught designer, showed both men’s and women’s looks with a highly targeted club-kid customer in mind. He offered transparency aplenty — in sheer tops, shorts and dresses — as well as velour polo tops and flocked floral shorts.
The most interesting item in the lineup was a faux-shearling coat with an oversize photo of MTV reality star Tila Tequila’s face on the back. Her 15 minutes may have passed a decade ago, but Huq made her his pin-up girl this season. He went for reality in his models, too, casting a diverse cast of young people with all body types.
