Hogan marks its 30th anniversary this year and Andrea Della Valle, who helms the brand and is vice chairman of its parent company, the Tod’s group, struck an upbeat note. “We were pioneers in the casual luxury sneaker arena and this is a great moment for the category; it’s booming,” he said, pointing to the latest incarnation: a sophisticated sneaker big on glamour, with a higher platform adorned with sequins. “This is a dynamic, modern and contemporary collection for a beautiful year,” said Della Valle. “You can go to a club or the theater wearing them and always feel comfortable.”
To wit, the sneakers were paired with tuxedos or double-breasted jackets, oversize shirts or cropped pants. There were also hints of a marine theme, with black-and-white striped tops. Biker jackets and ankle boot sneakers with micro studs added a tougher edge.
