Iridescent and sparkling fabrics were the wake-up call at Genny, which showed the opening morning of Milan Fashion Week.
Creative director Sara Cavazza delivered a collection which was heavy on evening attire. Inspired by the roaring Twenties and Charleston dancers, she turned out a minidress cut in a geometric silhouette and paved in a shimmering sequined texture, while patent leather fringes added a dynamic feel to a short, sexy frock.
Maxi-hobolike belts put the focus on the waist of suits. The constructed blazers with strong shoulders and fluid pants looked a tad dated, as did chubby fur intarsia coats.
The few daywear options included soft, cozy mohair coats and an elegant two-tone stretch cady dress embellished with the sinuous silhouettes of peacocks.
