Izumi Ogino’s minimalist clothes for Anteprima don’t make for an exciting runway spectacle. Perhaps that’s why she pumped out some disco smoke and had a video backdrop of a rose dissolving into petals, and then smoke. This was to cue her key print motif, which appeared on silk separates as well as shoes and clutch bags.
Yet the chic of her clothes sneaks up on you — like a sleeveless and knitted navy tunic with sailor buttons framing the shoulders, teamed with white culottes. Or a black V-neck sweatshirt and pants piped in bands of optic white.
The lame pussy-bow blouses, filmy shirtdresses and sparkly palazzo pants had a tinge of Seventies — just the right amount.
