The collection was all poetry — fluttery sleeves, velvet bows and Pierrot-style collars. This rich and melancholy outing harked back to the dreamlike collections the designer showed when she first launched her business a little over ten years ago.
Roksanda Ilincic worked an autumnal color palette — aubergine, rust, brown and dark blue — into silk stripes on knife-pleat dresses or wavy suede panels on long, slim color-blocked skirts, which she paired with crushed velvet shoe-boots that covered the knee.
Sweaters and dresses alike came with ruffles around the neck and pleated cuffs, while coats and gowns came with small velvet bows — as ties on little fur stoles shrugged around tailored coats, or shoulder embellishments on eveningwear.

The collection was a showcase for the new, too: The designer debuted handbags, and also showed more eveningwear, including long knife-pleat gowns with velvet bows, and a delicate mauve one.
The latter is a category Ilincic is eager to explore, and her creations certainly deserve their red carpet moment.
