Lucas Nascimento made a strong, chic statement with this collection, deftly playing with an off-kilter, Seventies color palette and cocooning silhouettes. A bold, tropical print ran through the lineup, with one roomy opera coat woven with images of flowers in shades of orange, purple, black and white, while a khaki sweater was knit with a pattern of white and blue frangipani flowers.
Nascimento, who hails from Brazil, also made a feature of shimmering metallic fabrics, but gave them a laid-back feel by working them on simple, sporty silhouettes. One blue sweatshirt was woven with stripes of fluffy silver yarn, while a V-necked tank dress was done in a glittery, blue-black lurex, London’s must-have fabric for fall.
