This season was the first time Rita Vinieris presented both her Rivini and Alyne collections together on the runway. Backstage she said she designed both lines with the same inspiration — wanting to give her brides “a depth of aesthetic” in the world of Rita Vinieris.
Inspired by the Renaissance, idealism and fluidity, she showed a beautiful and whimsical collection. Silhouettes were softer this season as she focused on volume and layers of fine tulle and intricate details such as delicate lace and exquisite embroideries. Vinieris emphasized the cold shoulder as well as sleeves — from bell to bishop — for an utterly romantic lineup. Some showstopper looks included a cold shoulder, bell-sleeve gown in scroll lace with floral appliqués; a transparent corseted re-embroidered lace gown with scalloped hem and a feathered collared veil, and a frothy skirt in ostrich feathers with a sheer multilayered lace bodice and bell feathered sleeves. It’s refreshing to see designers move out of their comfort zones and Vinieris did so beautifully.
