It all started with the idea of a bride standing in front of a sunlit morning window, said Ines Di Santo in her show notes, and thus she started her fall presentation with the runway draped in a sheer, veil-like curtain — allowing the audience to catch glimpses of a bride getting into her wedding gown. The beauty of light informed the entire collection as its sexy yet tasteful looks played on the idea of transparency. Di Santo worked sheer layers that showed subtle peeks of sparkle and shine in silhouettes ranging from voluminous ballgowns to glamorous sheath gowns. She also offered fashion-forward looks that broke with tradition: an illusion bodysuit with lace appliqués and a detachable tulle skirt, and an asymmetrical lace minidress with a detachable tulle overskirt scattered with lace appliqués.
