Wake up — Hotel Lobby Candle just dropped a new coffee scent.
The fragrance brand has officially partnered with Nespresso to launch an espresso-infused candle with Madagascar vanilla and smooth vanilla vodka. Named Nespresso Martini, the new item, $58, captures the frothy, rich aroma of the bar cocktail, combining base notes of warm tonka bean, roasted cacao and soft amber beneath sweet cream froth and caramelized sugar.
“Coffee and candles occupy a similar space in someone’s day. They’re ritual objects. In a way, both are signals that it’s time to slow down, or shift gears, or set a mood. That overlap is why this partnership made sense from the start,” Lindsay Silberman, founder of Hotel Lobby Candle, told WWD.

“Coffee is one of the most personal products in someone’s life, from the way it fits into your day, to the preferences you develop over time, and the emotions it evokes. Fragrance works the same way,” Jessica Padula, vice president of marketing at Nespresso, added.
Silberman said it was important to them to move beyond the “surface-level” mold of typical candle collaborations and to ensure that the DNA of both brands was represented in the scent. But the process, a year in the making, proved difficult.
“People have a strong preconceived idea of what a coffee candle smells like. For us, the challenge was to create something more elevated and complex. The cocktail concept worked so well because it gave us the ability to layer in other elements, like vanilla, caramel and cream,” Silberman noted. “We ended up with a scent that has so much depth, and smells incredibly expensive.”
Everything from the vessel to the pour was designed to evoke the experience of a freshly made espresso martini. “We wanted this candle to deliver a complete sensory experience that captures what a Nespresso Martini feels like. The way the crema forms and gives way to the deep richness underneath, the layered notes and the specific kind of anticipation that comes with an evening that’s just beginning,” Padula said.
The Nespresso Martini will be available to purchase starting April 30.
