The coronation of King Charles III of the United Kingdom is scheduled for May 6. Charles will be crowned alongside his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
The coronation will happen eight months after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, who died on Sept. 8, at the age of 96. Elizabeth was England’s longest-reigning monarch. She ascended to the throne in 1952.
The event will mark the first coronation of the British Monarchy in more than 70 years. The U.K. has added a bank holiday on May 8 to celebrate the occasion.
