Tina Knowles married her homage to tennis whites with sheer styling and botanical inspiration, wearing a matching set on the first day of the U.S. Open on Sunday in New York City.
For the first day of Grand Slam competition, the “Matriarch” author styled summertime florals in a long-sleeve blouse and high-waisted trousers. All over, both the blouse and trousers of the set were an array of florals, intricately embroidered throughout.
Along with the ornate embroidery work, sheer elements featured throughout, giving the look sartorial distinction and an element of modernity. The front placket of Knowles’ blouse featured buttons, which the businesswoman tied at her waist.

Knowles’ look artfully married historic tennis whites with summertime florals and the contemporary sheer trend with her look. Tennis whites have a long history as the color of tennis kits, and while events like the U.S. Open allow participating players to wear kits of any color, The Championships, Wimbledon still enforce a dress code for professional players, who are required to wear white tennis kits on the historic courts of the All England Club, where Wimbledon is held.
Knowles is no stranger to this type of attire, though. The “Matriarch” author wore a similar sheer-suited look with white embroidery throughout, courtesy of Nadine Merabi, in May for a promotional tour stop for her memoir.
