A bevy of stars doubled down on the drama of their fashion with extra-long extensions on Monday night at the 2026 Met Gala in honor of the new spring exhibition, “Costume Art.”
Straight, coiled and kinked — extensions have been a mainstay at the Met over the years, with Naomi Campbell donning jet-black ends to “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” in 2023 and Sarah Jessica Parker styling honey blond waves at “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” a year later.
Thanks to legendary hairstylists such as Adir Abergel, Renato Campora and Glen Oropeza, Nicole Kidman, Amanda Seyfried, Lisa and more were able to boast sleek, straight ends à la Law Roach this year, accentuating the shape and silhouette of their ensembles. Nicole Kidman and Sunday Rose
Like mother, like daughter. Nicole Kidman and Sunday Rose arrived hand-in-hand and hair in sync on Monday night, sporting straight ends styled by WWD’s Hairstylist of the Year Adir Abergel. Dressed in a red-hot Chanel gown with feathered cuffs and a fluffy waistband, Kidman added bleach blond inches next, while Rose boasted light brown extensions.
Katy Perry
Intergalactic and avant-garde, Katy Perry donned inky black extensions that ran down the back of her strapless Stella McCartney gown on the coveted steps. The ends were tucked behind the white mesh wrap of her sculptural silver mirrored mask, which obscured her face. While she typically collaborated with hair architect Andrew Ly, he’s not yet been credited as the visionary behind her Monday night look.
Rosé
Rosé juxtaposed her black Saint Laurent gown with pin-straight, bleached blond ends that reached her waist, where a crystal-encrusted dove sat. The extensions were likely crafted by the performer’s longtime South Korean hair artist, Cha Jong-hyun, also known as Cha Cha.
Amanda Seyfried
Amanda Seyfried arrived in a custom Prada babydoll, bubblegum gown with custom Tiffany & Co. jewelry and an Anne Hathaway-esque ponytail. The hyper-feminine hairstyle, created by Renato Campora, featured lengthy honey-blond extensions with tiny ripples through the ends.
Lisa
Lisa left The Mark Hotel touting gelled extensions that finished just past her hips. Clad in a sheer white Robert Wun design, the 29-year-old rapper’s ornate hair look, featuring wet ends and a spiral embellishment, mimicked the hard-shelled aesthetic of artistic swimmers.
