Leave it to Julia Fox to enliven a hairstyle belonging to the late 18th century.
Celebrating the premiere of the new Justin Tipping-directed horror movie, “Him,” the 35-year-old actress posed in an aesthetic reminiscent of the late Queen of France, Marie Antoinette. Under an ornate hat, Fox’s dark brown ringlet curls were styled in a mostly up, partly down hairdo; tiny pieces tickling the edge of her face.
The bottom half of her hair showed only two ringlets ending just past her collarbone; the rest was tucked beneath her polka-dot cap. Meanwhile, the front curls folded like waves over the top of her head; baby hairs falling alongside. John Novotny, Fox’s hairstylist and the talent behind Chappell Roan’s coat of hair in the “Subway” music video, was the artist behind this look.

Fox’s makeup bore a similar resemblance to the ghostly complexion of the Antoinette era, too. Aside from a light wash of rosy blush on her cheeks, the fashion mogul’s visage boasted white undertones, not a drop of bronzer in sight. Her dark eyebrows were thinned above charcoal-colored shadow in the creases of her eyelids. That same color also carried down under her waterline, accentuating her bottom lash clusters and single layer of mascara. Meanwhile, Fox’s lips breathed life into the otherwise pale look with a hot pink hue.
Fox juxtaposed the sophistication of her above-the-shoulder beauty with Gen Z-inspired talons, each a different design. The square-shaped extensions moved from nude to white to orange to black bases like a complimentary colorwheel with three-dimensional, circus-inspired embellishments in the shape of tiny bows, swirls and buttons.
Set to premiere in theaters on Friday, “Him” will see Fox assume the role of Elsie White, an influencer wife, alongside her castmates Marlon Wayans and Tyriq Withers. The film centers around the story of Withers’ character Cameron Cade, a young football player who gets invited to a private training camp hosted by renowned quarterback Isaiah White, played by Wayans.
