Janelle Monáe proved that florals for spring can indeed be groundbreaking while performing at Outloud Music Festival during West Hollywood Pride in Los Angeles on Saturday.
She took the stage in a bold cape featuring three-dimensional appliqués, accessorizing with a matching flower crown and boots.
Monáe removed her blossoming robe to reveal a black French cut bodysuit with a blazer-inspired bodice with peak lapels, statement shoulders and a red rose brooch. She layered the piece over a pair of fishnet tights.
The singer’s dark tresses were styled in a bob, while her makeup consisted of a red lip and winged eyeliner.

Monáe’s third look of the evening also featured three-dimensional florals, this time in shades of black and white. She paired her statement cape with a red beret and spiked shades.
The Outloud Music Festival is a weekend long event held in June, which marks the beginning of Pride Month. Other performers at this year’s festival included Keke Palmer, Noah Cyrus and Doechii.
In February, Monáe brought her bold sense of style to the 2024 NFL Honors, wearing a mirrored minidress by Tony Ward Couture, which came from the designer’s spring 2024 collection. Monáe accessorized with gold and diamond earrings by Reza, as well as a pair of black peep-toe pumps featuring jeweled ankle straps.
The singer was styled by Alexandra Mandelkorn, whose other clients include Rachel Brosnahan, Stephanie Hsu and Alexandra Shipp.
