Elvis and Priscilla Presley had one of the most talked about celebrity weddings of the ‘60s. The singer proposed to Priscilla in 1966. In the following year, the couple wed in a small and intimate ceremony in Las Vegas.
Priscilla wore a silk chiffon white wedding dress with a beaded neckline and seed pearl beaded sleeves. Their actual wedding ceremony lasted only 8 minutes and was attended by 14 people.
One of the most notable aspects of the wedding was their tiered wedding cake, which cost $3,200. Adjusted for inflation, the cake would cost over $29,000 today. Although Elvis and Priscilla divorced in 1973, their wedding, albeit small in scale, is remembered as one of the most major celebrity weddings in history.
