Daisy Edgar-Jones gave the classic trenchcoat a contemporary edge at the Burberry show during London Fashion Week on Monday night.
Joined by a bevy of high-profile stars for the London-based label’s fall 2026 collection presentation, Edgar-Jones bundled up in a black leather trenchcoat with tortoiseshell buttons. The piece was constructed with classic elements from sharp lapels to long raglan sleeves and a belt that tied at the waist for added silhouette definition to boot.
Epaulettes featured at the shoulders to give the look even more dimension, while deep pockets and an extra set of buckles at the cuffs added further elements to the classic piece. Beneath the trench, the “Normal People” breakout star wore a black garment with Wales bonner crochet work, which she paired with black pointed toe pumps.

Edgar-Jones, often styled by Dani Michelle, was not the only star who sported a variation on the trenchcoat. Indeed, attendees from Kate Moss to Kristin Scott Thomas, Erin O’Connor and South Korean boy band Stray Kids styled variations on the wardrobe staple, and the luxury piece for which Burberry is best known.
Creative director Daniel Lee brought London’s rainy weather to the vast space of Old Billingsgate market, curating a collection full of variations on Burberry’s signature design: the trench. “Lee added dramatic ruffled collars to some trenches and sparkly fringe, like streaks of rain, to the hem of faux fur ones,” Samantha Conti wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.
“Those trenches had so many personalities. There were elongated knits with leather belts and epaulets, bouclé and leather styles, and ones with woven checks and fur collars. Lee said the one he’s eager to wear has a vintage map of London woven into the fabric,” Conti wrote.
“When he wasn’t in the trenches, Lee was making other weather-worthy clothing. There were buttery leather pieces including kilts, bombers with slim tracksuit bottoms, and a lineup of sharp cloth coats with leather lapels or stand-up collars, which had a military edge.”
