Anne Hathaway was, once again, spotted filming for “The Devil Wear Prada 2” in New York City on Tuesday night, this time dressed in a royal blue sequin gown and matching glitter makeup. A shimmery shadow danced across the 42-year-old actress’ eyelids as she played the part of her storied character from the original 2006 movie, Andy Sachs, alongside her costar — and potential new love interest in the upcoming second installment — Patrick Brammall.
The multilayered eye makeup — imagined by artists Nicki Ledermann, Jane DiPersio and Emily Marroquin — presented like a dwindling sunset, boasting a kaleidoscope of blues and purples tinged with a metallic finish. Hathaway’s eyelashes also looked to be coated in a royal blue mascara; the color melting into her waterline. Her cheeks were, conversely, dressed in coral, peachy hues, while her lips were painted in a pale rosy gloss.

The makeup embellished Hathaway’s long, thin-strapped gown and Paco Rabanne shoulder bag. Her nails, however, were void of color and shine; they were painted in a nude shade and kept extremely short.
In its entirety, the aesthetic harked back to ’80s disco makeup with its reflective dimension. Videos that’ve since surfaced online showed not only Hathaway’s visage resembling party girl makeup from decades past but her behavior, too.
The “Interstellar” star was filmed pretending to be drunk, tripping and spinning around as Brammall’s character worked to steady her. This was a far cry from the scenes passerbys have caught her filming in recent weeks, one of which saw her anxiously running after Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly on a busy Manhattan street.
The character arc of Andy Sachs was overtly epitomized through beauty in the original “The Devil Wears Prada.” At the start, Andy’s hair was a long mop of dark brown, left untouched. Then, when Andy wanted to impress her boss, Miranda, she underwent a major makeover, chopping her hair shoulder-length and styling her bangs on her forehead. At a charity benefit later in the film, Andy proves her newfound respect for the symbiotic relationship between fashion, beauty and confidence, donning a twisted bun on the crown of her head. She also wears more eye shadow than she ever has before; a sophisticated look sealed with a bold red lip.
On the street in Brooklyn on Tuesday night, Hathaway’s lengthy, dark brown hair, handled by Sean Flanigan, was curled and parted in the middle. This seems to be Andy’s go-to hairstyle for the modern-day movie, set to release sometime in May 2026, based on incoming film clips shared by passersby on social media.
