Amal Clooney made a glamorous departure from her typically subdued style at the Albie Awards on Thursday in New York. The second annual ceremony is hosted by the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which was founded by Amal and her husband, George Clooney.
For the occasion, Clooney wore a white Versace gown covered in crystals. The human rights attorney accessorized with a box clutch, dangle earrings and a geometric diamond cuff.

Hairdresser Dimitris Giannetos added volume to Amal’s brunette tresses, which also featured subtle highlights. Her makeup included bronze eyeshadow, coral blush and a nude ombre lip.
On the red carpet, Amal and George posed with makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, a longtime friend of the couple. Tilbury’s eponymous makeup brand serves as the Albie Awards’ exclusive beauty partner.
“Named in honor of the inspirational judge and anti-apartheid activist, Justice Albie Sachs, this important event was a chance for us to spotlight amazing award recipients in a celebration and recognition of their fight for justice,” Tilbury wrote on Instagram.
The Clooneys also mingled with Versace’s artistic director, Donatella Versace, as well as Amal’s mother, journalist Baria Alamuddin.
Launched last year, the Albie Awards celebrate five individuals who are “courageous defenders of justice,” according to the Clooney Foundation’s website. Among the honorees were journalists Niloofar Hamedi and Elahe Mohammadi, who produced groundbreaking coverage of Mahsa Amini’s death in police custody after she was arrested for not wearing a hijab in Tehran, Iran.
The Clooney Foundation for Justice was founded by the Clooneys in 2016. Working in over 40 countries, the nonprofit provides free legal support to victims of human rights abuses around the world.
