Danny Masterson, an actor from “That ’70s Show,” has teamed with a friend on a collection of golf apparel.
The line, Sparrowe Golf, turned to men’s designer Luis Fernandez of Craft Atlantic and Number:Lab to serve as creative director and is launching for spring.
Masterson has long been interested in fashion and with a partner, Ilaria Urbinati, had opened the Los Angeles boutique Confederacy. This time around, he is working with entrepreneur and fellow golf enthusiast Graham R. Bruwer.
Sparrowe is designed to perform on the course and look good after the round is over. “It’s for the golfer who doesn’t want to look like he’s wearing golf attire,” Masterson said. “We wanted to blend looking good on the course with what we wear off the course,” Bruwer added.
The collection uses cashmere, merino wool and pima cotton fabrics that are engineered for swing mobility, moisture-wicking and breathability. The first collection consists of two styles of polo shirts; golf pants; a cashmere, half-zip pullover, and a cardigan. Polos will retail for $95 to $165, pants for $175 and shorts for $135, and a merino wool-blend cardigan is $275. It will be sold on the company’s Web site.
