Lubiam, the Mantua, Italy-based men’s suit maker, received the Pitti Immagine Uomo 2016 award during the men’s wear trade show earlier this month. The award, which was presented at the show’s opening ceremony at the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, was accepted by Giovanni Bianchi, style director of the company.
“We are proud to receive this important award,” said Bianchi. “It is a great honor for us to be chosen among all the companies attending the show. As you know, Pitti Immagine Uomo has always been essential for our company. I would like to share this significant moment with my father Giuliano, with all our family and with all the people — more than 300 employees — who work with us with passion and commitment. They make the Lubiam success possible.”
Lubiam, which was founded in 1911 by Luigi Bianchi, offers collections under the names L.B.M. 1911, Luigi Bianchi Mantova Sartoria, Giozubon, Lubiam 1911 Cerimonia.

Pitti Uomo said it is the brand’s blend of fine craftsmanship and design, combined with its use of the latest technology, that led to it being selected for the honor.
In addition, the brand was singled out for its social responsibility to its employees and the community, such as its day-care facilities and cultural projects that include a partnership with the Guggenheim Collection in Venice, its support of the Mantova Creativa festival and the contemporary art projects displayed in the Palazzo Ducale.
Lubiam ended 2015 with a sales increase of 11 percent and a staff increase of 10 percent. Exports account for 45 percent of sales, led by the U.S., France, Japan, Switzerland, Canada, Netherlands and Russia.
The company is still owned and managed by the Bianchi family.
