Fair Harbor is the latest brand to take the plunge into the lucrative men’s underwear market.
The New York-based sustainable lifestyle brand is launching a line of men’s underwear under the name BreezeKnit Boxer Brief. Its claim to fame is much the same as the swimwear that Fair Harbor launched with in 2014, which was created from recycled plastic bottles. The swimwear featured a chafe-free BreezeKnit liner, which the company said is a breathable, moisture-wicking and non-irritating alternative to mesh that is created from four recycled plastic bottles.
Fair Harbor used the same fabric for the boxer brief, which features a six-inch inseam and a flyless front pouch.

“At Fair Harbor, sustainability, performance and comfort are at the core of everything we do and we’re excited to introduce those values into every aspect of our customers’ lives,” said cofounders and siblings Caroline and Jake Danehy. “Our pioneering BreezeKnit liner is what set our brand apart in the men’s swim industry and differentiates us in the men’s underwear category. Our customers have been asking for BreezeKnit underwear for years. After the success of our denim launch last fall, it felt like the next step to offer that Fair Harbor signature softness to our customers in a style they could wear every day. We think of it as another way to protect special places.”
The Fair Harbor BreezeKnit Boxer will retail for $32 and be available in small to 3XL. It will be sold on the brand’s website beginning Jan. 2.
