Supreme Is Bringing Back a Rare Nike Air Max Sneaker for the First Time Ever

A Supreme x Nike Air Max 2000 will be released later this year.

An obscure Nike Air Max sneaker is reportedly making its first-ever return thanks to some help from perennial streetwear outfit Supreme.

According to Air Max specialist @bubblekope, the Nike Air Max 2000 will return during fall 2026 through a collaboration with Supreme. Specific colorway and material makeup details aren’t yet known, but the fact that the New York-based label is pulling out a never-before-seen Nike Air Max reissue is newsworthy enough on its own.

Last seen during its original release in the year 2000, the Air Max 2000 was part of Nike’s experimental Alpha Project franchise, which was home to the brand’s most boundary-pushing footwear designs. Sneakers in the Alpha Project range were denoted by a five-dot logo placed inconspicuously throughout the design. Notable for its mesh-based upper, bold reflective lines and full-length Air Max cushioning, the Air Max 2000 model has remained tucked away in Nike’s archive for 26 years.

While many Nike Air Max models, such as the Air Max 1, Air Max 90 and Air Max 95, are perpetually available in retro form, there are several sneakers from years past that are less frequently seen. In some cases, like that of the Air Max 2000, certain shoes can go decades without receiving reissues at all.

News of the Supreme x Nike Air Max 2000 collaboration could also indicate a wider, general release launch for the ’00 sneaker, although it’s not a guarantee. Supreme has a track record of sometimes selecting unexpected models, such as 2024’s SB Darwin Low and 2023’s Air Bakin, which did not receive larger releases outside of their respective collaborations.

In addition to the Air Max 2000, Supreme will also be releasing a trio of Nike SB Air Max2 CB 94 Low colorways. The latter collaboration is expected to be featured in the brand’s spring ’26 collection.

The Supreme x Nike Air Max 2000 is expected to be released during fall ’26 for a to-be-determined retail price. Readers can expect multiple colorways to be included. Note that the pairs pictured here are of original ’00 versions and do not represent the upcoming collaboration.
