WNBA star Caitlin Clark doesn’t yet have a signature sneaker, but her shoes are already some of the sport’s most talked-about footwear.
On the heels of the release of her Nike Kobe 5 Protro PE in Indiana Fever colors, Clark debuted Sunday another player exclusive Kobe sneaker that has social media buzzing. This time, it’s Kobe Bryant’s sixth shoe, the Nike Kobe 6 Protro, which gets a playful Cookie Monster-themed makeover with details inspired by the beloved “Sesame Street” character.
While not an officially licensed collaboration, the custom Clark style tells its story through color and textures. The scaly upper of the shoe is draped in a bright blue with matching fuzzy, Muppet-like laces, while the pair’s two-tone brown tongue symbolizes a chocolate chip cookie. The whimsical theme is a first for Clark’s Kobe exclusives, which have thus far been tied to team colors and moments such as her Rookie of the Year honor.

Response to the Cookie Monster colorway was overwhelmingly positive.
“Can we pls get a release, pretty please with a cup of milk and a cookie on top,” wrote one commenter.
“We need these in our damn lives!,” said another X user.
In Sunday’s game, Clark and the Fever matched up against the Paige Bueckers-led Dallas Wings. It was the first time Clark and Bueckers faced off in professional action after playing against and alongside each other in college and in the FIBA World Cup, respectively. The Fever dominated, winning 102-83. Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever in scoring with 20 points while Clark put up a 14 point, 13 assist double-double.
Fans awaiting Clark’s debut signature shoe won’t have to hold out much longer. Industry insider Nick DePaula recently stated the shoe is slated to arrive during spring 2026. “It could become a top five signature franchise across basketball,” DePaula told Front Office Sports.
As for Clark’s Cookie Monster Kobe 6 Protro PE, there’s no word yet if it will be released to the public but judging by the response on social media, it would likely experience another prompt sell-out if it were to happen. While fans await potential updates, another one of Clark’s Nike Kobe 6 Protro PEs is expected to be released in October.
