Nike is gearing up to launch its latest Yardrunners collection celebrating the legacies of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The initiative, which was introduced in 2020, has produced limited-edition footwear tied to HBCUs including a set of Dunk Lows in 2023 and two Air Force 1s in 2024. For 2025, Nike is doubling down on last year’s collection by releasing four special-edition colorways of its remastered Air Max 95 OG Big Bubble sneaker.
The universities selected for the ’25 Nike Yardrunners collection include Florida A&M (FAMU), Morehouse, Norfolk State and Spelman. Rather than simply applying each college’s respective color scheme to the retro running shoe, Nike went all-in on details, adding mascot-inspired textures and school-specific branding to each pair.

FAMU’s colorway (style code II7272-001) blends Black and Orange Horizon with snakeskin details referencing the school’s Rattler mascot and the team’s “strike, strike and strike again” chant printed on the orange striping of the medial side.
Morehouse’s Air Max 95 (style code II7276-001) dons striped details for the school’s Maroon Tiger mascot and features the university motto, “et facta est lux” (and there was light), on the medial side.
Norfolk State’s iteration (style code IO8310-001) combines full-grain leather, synthetic leather and suede in Court Green and Midwest Gold as a nod to its Spiro Spartan mascot. “Behold the green and gold” is printed on the medial side.
Rounding out the collection is Spelman’s Photo Blue and White look (style code II7275-001). The school’s newly reinstated Jaguar mascot is represented through a spotted pattern while a The Spelman Hymn is referenced with “thy name we praise” text on the medial section.
Each Nike Air Max 95 OG Big Bubble Yardrunner sneaker is priced at $200 and will be released from Nike’s Snkrs app on Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET. The collection is also available from select Nike Sportswear retailers. A detailed look at all four pairs is included below.
