Nike‘s return to the Air Max 95‘s original proportions is set to continue with the emergence of the third sneaker to get the “Big Bubble” treatment.
The Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble “Bright Mandarin” is expected to release this month, joining the OG “Neon” colorway and “Pink Foam” in the Swoosh’s efforts to match the larger proportions from the shoe’s seminal run. Just like the latter edition, “Mandarin” isn’t an original colorway. It was first introduced in 2011 as a welcomed edition.
Both the forthcoming Big Bubble edition and the 2011 iteration feature the same color-blocking as the iconic “Neon” pair, including the gradient stripes proceeding from white to black from top to bottom. The difference, of course, is that bright orange replaces the neon green accents including the small heel Swoosh, Air units and rib-inspired lace holders.

2025 marks the 30th anniversary for the Air Max 95, one of the most iconic models from the Air Max series and Nike as a whole. Sergio Lozano designed the sneaker after previously working for Nike on tennis and ACG sneakers. He was encouraged to be adventurous in creating a new running shoe, and the lake view outside his office led to him thinking about rain eroding the Earth, which informed the layers of wavy stripes that define the Air Max 95’s upper.
The Big Bubble “Neon” release is the flagship of Nike’s Air Max 95 celebrations and has been kept to a low production run. It’s expected to be followed up in the same colorway without the Big Bubble treatment and with wider availability next year. Just this week, Nike also surprise launched a “Reverse Gradient” edition of the sneaker with an inverted color scheme modeled after one of Lozano’s earlier sketches.
The Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble “Bright Mandarin” doesn’t yet have a firm release date but is expected to release in full family sizing at some point in April through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers. Pricing for men’s is set at $180.
