A year into their relationship, Clot and Adidas have already set a precedent for bringing radical changes to some of the latter’s most classic sneakers. Through the collaborations with Edison Chen and Co., the Superstar has transformed into a dress shoe and another dressier shoe with dramatic wedge soles, and the Gazelle has become an espadrille with hand-applied beaded stripes.
Next up for the collaborators is a crepe-soled Clot x Adidas Gazelle. While not as groundbreaking as their previous efforts — Kith has already done crepe-soled Sambas followed by Gazelles with Clarks as a third-party — the Gazelle continues the streak of sole swapping. The “Crew White” pair also integrates a Clot icon with patterned silk forming the base of the upper.

A blue “Night Marine” variant then opts for more dynamic color blocking with a green mustache and stripes, the latter of which is lined with yellow. Its base appears to be satin rather than silk, but it’s united with the white colorway by a natural rubber crepe sole and gold debossed Clot logo on the mustache.
An additional Clot x Adidas Gazelle dropped last year with a more traditional cupsole and the same bead treatment as the espadrille variant, which could be considered the most “normal” sneaker they’ve made yet.
So far, only Foot District has confirmed a March 28 release date for the Clot x Adidas Gazelle in “Crew White” and “Night Marine” for approximately $170. Adidas and other third-party retailers will likely follow suit on the same date or around the same time.
