Body of Work is launching two firsts for spring/summer 2025 collection with its debut of womenswear and its first collaboration with French footwear maker Mephisto.
For the project, the emerging Canadian-made sportswear label updated the Mephisto Match walking shoe, which is handcrafted in Sarrebourg, France by 18 expert craftspeople. Made in Italian suede in Body of Work’s signature “Loam” brown colorway, the Match sneaker blends tonal dark brown hues with a black leather interior. Plus, a subtle embossed Body of Work logo adorns the tongue.

“As my last pair were nearing the end of their time, we were speaking about what our ideal pair of Mephisto Matches would be and the conversation expectedly centered around materials and palette,” Vatcher said. “We are also Mephisto’s first-ever Canadian collaborator which makes this project particularly special.”
This new shoe collaboration comes after Body of Work teamed up with San Antonio Shoemakers (SAS) for the second time in September.
For this project, Body of Work updated SAS’ JV Mesh silhouette, a walking shoe featuring two velcro straps and a sleek profile inspired by cycling footwear and vintage sportswear design. Touched by approximately 80 artisans, the shoes featured accents of Italian nubuck, full grain leather, and USA-made textiles.
And, to launch its SAS collaborative silhouette, Vatcher and MacKinnon hosted a two-day pop-up at the Float studio and art gallery in Tokyo.
Body of Work’s new partnership with Mephisto debuts exclusively at its spring/summer 2025 New York City pop-up shop inside Colbo at 51 Orchard St. on May 22. The pop-up will also house Body of Work’s new women’s collection and expanded menswear offering.
The brand’s Mephisto shoe will also then be available online starting May 23 followed by a launch at Lost & Found in Toronto on May 31.
