Sneaker fans already have plenty to look forward to this holiday season with the return of the “Space Jam” Air Jordan 11 for the first time in a decade, but it sounds like Jordan Brand will be taking the theme a step further with the introduction of a brand-new colorway inspired by the beloved film.
According to @zsneakerheadz and Sneaker Files, an Air Jordan 11 Retro “Space Jam Galaxy” will also be arriving at retail this holiday season. Playing up the starry backdrop of the 1996 film’s poster, the new look combines the fan-favorite Space Jam theme with traces of another popular Nike, Inc sneaker, the Galaxy Air Foamposite One.

While in-hand images of the new Air Jordan 11 have yet to surface, an early speculative mock-up gives fans a rough idea of what to expect from the sneaker. The pair is expected to feature a white leather upper with a metallic silver Jumpman logo and a mudguard that’s covered in a spacey galaxy print.
The Space Jam-galaxy connection may be unexpected, but it’s not all that surprising that Nike would look to combine two of its most popular themes for an all-new concept.
According to the early information, the new Space Jam Galaxy colorway is expected to be more limited than a typical Air Jordan 11 style, which are often some of Nike’s most mass-produced releases year-to-year. In Nike’s 2017 Q3 earnings call, the 2016 iteration of the Space Jam Air Jordan 11 was touted as “the largest and most successful shoe launch in the history of Nike.”
The Space Jam Galaxy Air Jordan 11 Retro is expected to be released on Dec. 12, the same day as the regular Space Jam colorway. An exact colorway and style code have not been confirmed, but readers can expect a retail price of $255 and availability from Nike’s Snkrs app and Nbhd retailers.
