A new contender has emerged in the battle for slim-soled sneaker supremacy, but while the Adidas Ghost Sprint is a recent addition to contemporary low-profile offerings, it’s not actually a new sneaker at all.
As its model name suggests, the Adidas Ghost Sprint was originally introduced in the mid-2000s as a shoe designed for sprinting. Originally named the Ghost Ride Sprint, its name has now been shortened and rather than the track, the pair is now intended for lifestyle use. Perhaps too ahead of its time upon its debut two decades ago, the repurposed Ghost Sprint now sits comfortably among other trending thin-soled sneakers of the moment.
First appearing in an upcoming metallic silver look, new images of the Adidas Ghost Sprint have appeared in an even more on-trend look. The newly surfaced Magic Beige/Wonder White/Gum 4 colorway covers the shoe’s entire upper in a beige suede complimented by a leather liner, white shoelaces and a gum rubber outsole.

The Ghost Sprint’s combination of a barely there outsole and tan coloring has predictably drawn comparisons to Miu Miu’s hit New Balance 530 SL collaboration. UK retailer Size? leaned into the similarities for its Ghost Sprint marketing, outfitting the pair with mismatched double shoelaces for a Miu Miu x New Balance-adjacent aesthetic at a fraction of the price. The Miu Miu collaboration retails for $1,120, while the Ghost Sprint is priced at a far more palatable 139 euros, which converts to roughly $160.
The thin-soled sneaker trend has been inescapable in 2025. Nearly every major brand has a variation of the style available, with many more still to come. Nike will soon introduce the women’s-exclusive Astra Ultra sneaker, while Adidas is set to release numerous slim-soled variations of its classic sneakers. And New Balance has its own Miu Miu-esque model on the way with the upcoming 204L.
The Adidas Ghost Sprint will be released in Magic Beige (style code JS1067). in women’s sizing on July 1 from select overseas retailers including Asphaltgold, Footdistrict, Size? and Solebox.
