Adidas announced in its latest earnings call that it’s sold nearly 10 million pairs of the Evo SL, cementing it as the hottest running shoe in the brand’s lineup. The model has taken on various colorways and three offshoots with distinct construction over the last year, and it’s now been given its most daring treatment to date.
The Adidas Evo SL “Chinese New Year” color-changing look carries throughout the upper with a gridded base for its upper and pointalism lining the Three Stripes. Purple features in between the dots and where the oversize stripes carry over to the midsole, while a black mustache is rendered in pony hair with Adidas’ logo embroidered in gold. A black collar and lining then hosts a gold patch with purple Adizero text, and the latter color rears its head again on the forefoot portion of the outsole.

Adidas gave the Evo SL a limited launch in fall 2024 before bringing it to the masses the following spring. The super trainer is essentially a plateless version of the Adios Pro Evo, making use of the same Lightstrike Pro+ foam with similar rocker geometry.
