Sofia Vergara’s Towering Platform Sandals Anchor Her Leopard Oscar de la Renta Gown

The actress wore the look to a benefit gala on Wednesday night.

On Wednesday night, Sofia Vergara stepped out for the “An Unforgettable Evening” benefit gala, a star-studded fundraiser for the Women’s Cancer Research Fund. The “Modern Family” alum arrived in a strapless leopard print dress — a timeless motif she frequently gravitates toward — paired with platform sandals.

Vergara’s shoes featured a thick block heel and sturdy platform base, giving her both height and stability. A thick strap secured her toes, while a slimmer ankle strap kept her foot in place. She opted for a black pedicure, keeping the footwear moment cohesive. Vergara seems to favor platform silhouettes, as she attended Paris Hilton’s “Infinite Icon: A Visual Memoir” premiere earlier this year in Aquazzura’s Shear Sandal Plateau 130 style.

Last night, Vergara styled the towering shoes with a leopard-patterned gown from Oscar de la Renta’s fall 2024 collection. The dress featured a bustier-style bodice and paneling around the waist, falling into a full skirt that grazed her ankles. Vergara let the gown do all the talking, skipping a necklace and accenting the look with red statement earrings. The actress wore her long, glossy brunette hair straight in a middle part, paired with bombshell makeup featuring a smoky eye and rosy-pink lips.

Vergara was far from the only A-lister on the red carpet at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Wednesday evening. She was in good company, joined by fellow actresses Kerry Washington — who stunned in a billowy Huishan Zhang dress and satin pumps — as well as Olivia Jade and Lori Loughlin. In addition to celebrities, the event, which has been running for more than 25 years, draws designers and philanthropists to honor cancer survivors and support research.
