Cardi B’s sophomore album “Am I the Drama?” may have dropped last week, but she is still hitting the pavement in sky-high, custom Thom Solo boots to promote it. The rapper was spotted in Los Angeles on Thursday, arriving at an album signing and meet-and-greet event with her fans, balancing on her towering heels.
The Grammy winner combated the high temperatures in Long Beach by wearing a pair of open micro-denim shorts and a white T-shirt that’s part of her album merchandise, and covered her growing baby bump. Cardi, who was styled by Posh McKoy and Kollin Carter, contrasted the casual look with a pair of dramatic Thom Solo platform boots that did all the talking.

Her shoe choice was a pair of custom python snake-print boots in a reddish-brown shade with black and beige accents throughout. The boot shaft reached right below her knee, and closed with a concealed zipper on the inside of the leg.
The boots were exclusively designed for her by Thom Solo in collaboration with Carter and McKoy. The boots were crafted from embossed snakeskin leather, featuring a six-inch platform and heel with a sharp, pointed toe, which gave them a futuristic appeal. Earlier this month, Cardi debuted another custom pair of the brand’s Croc-Embossed Thigh-High Opera boots in black, which the stylists also helped design.
The collaboration marks Thom Solo Atelier officially opening its doors to made-to-order creations that were once reserved only for stylists and celebrities. Now, everyone can collaborate directly with the women’s footwear designer to bring their footwear fantasies to life.
The “Outside” rapper has utilized fashion as a vehicle to promote her latest project, incorporating over-the-top heels and boots at every step. From her album cover to her music videos, footwear has been a focal point for Cardi, who earlier this year was on a hunt for “It” shoes and boots, which she said were scarce in recent seasons.
In June 2025, Cardi B went live on IG, calling out fashion designers, asking them to step up their offerings, saying: “We want good boots. Last year, there weren’t a lot of good boots. We want big tall boots, big, long heel boots. I feel like there hasn’t been a boot that gagged us — that’s why we keep buying vintage shoes, ’cause y’all not coming.”
So far, the Bronx, N.Y., native has tapped designers like Chanel, Betzábe and Le Silla to provide her with shoes for the promo run, proving that shoes are an integral portion of any look.
