Shoe Show Marks 65th Anniversary With Family-Focused Campaign

The Tucker family is bringing its hometown messaging to life through a new film produced in collaboration with creative agency McKinney.

Shoe Show, Inc. is marking its 65th anniversary with a special campaign honoring its family roots.

Founded in 1960 by the late Robert Tucker and his wife Carolyn C. Tucker in downtown Kannapolis, N.C, the family-owned business has continued to thrive with nearly 1,000 stores across 47 states despite huge change across the retail landscape. (Lisa Tucker, the couple’s daughter, is now at the helm as president and chief executive officer.)

Now, the Tucker family is bringing its hometown messaging to life through a new film produced in collaboration with creative agency McKinney. Dubbed “An American Story,” the film celebrates the journey of Shoe Show, Inc.’s founders and customers, woven into the broader “Shoes for Every One” platform launched in 2024.

Lisa Tucker added in an interview that the campaign was another way to honor her parents and the legacy they built.

“They started with one small store and, through hard work and quiet determination, grew this company without seeking fanfare or recognition,” the executive said. “The industry looks different today, and not everyone knew my father—but I wanted people to understand why our company’s story is still meaningful: what we believe in, and why those beliefs continue to matter.”

Lisa Tucker added that Shoe Show, Inc.’s legacy is “built on values that never go out of style: trust, care, and commitment.”

“We’ve always believed in knowing our customers, understanding what they need, and helping their families thrive – even in challenging times,” she noted.

As for the outcome of the spot, the leader said that she hopes people take away that true success takes everyone – family, employees, friends, and customers – all working together.

“We care deeply, and we’re grateful for the loyal, resourceful customers who allow us to do what we love every single day,” Lisa Tucker added.
