The Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2015 (Salt Lake City, August 5-8) will benefit from the recruiting of overseas buyers by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration selected Outdoor Retailer for the International Buyer Program (IBP), a joint government-industry effort.
The IBP will host an international trade center at the OR Summer Market, where foreign buyers can research potential business partners and meet with U.S. companies.
IBP is encouraging U.S. exhibitors to register for the Export Interest Directory that will be distributed to international buyers. Companies listed in the directory will also receive a copy of any leads that result from the international buyers’ matching program.
Liz Crawford, vice president, group show director for the licensing group, and group marketing director for Outdoor Retailer, said, “By partnering with the Department of Commerce, we will be able to identify and bring international buyers to the show floor, which opens the door for many of our exhibiting brands to develop or grow their international market-share. We see this as a very positive value-ad for our exhibitors.”
